I can hear and most of the time diagnose unusual engine noise, but I've noticed lately the volume has to be pretty high on the tv.

I drive my wife nuts. I'm extremely perceptive to little ticks and pops and subtle noises.
Her bread maker drives me nuts when it's cooking because of the little sounds it makes.
Of course she doesn't hear any of it.

Many moons ago I was at a friends house.
He was running his dads riding mower. I commented that the motor must be getting old.
Something just wasn't right to my ear. About 5 minutes later it seized.

As I sit here the CFL light fixture in the ceiling has a buzzing power supply.

My washing machine is thunking no more. Picked up an $8.00 spring at lunch and handy Rick took care of the repair!

Almost a year. Not much improvement, Levi. But every case is different, from what I'm told.

My Ford truck's automatic transmission is sticking in 2nd gear. My ears told me; sadly my eyes confirmed it when I watch the tach. Normally, you don't need to be doing 70 before it decides to shift into 3rd. Beware - do NOT change transmission fluid just because it's old. You heard it here.

I hear voices in my head that no one else hears!

Little things like the microwave beep after things have cooked, and the reminder beep every minute or so drives me nuts.... I think Kathy has just tuned it out!
