Hello to all
Hello to all. i've been lurking on this educational, informative and most of all, entertaining forum and finally decided to join.
A little background - after retiring from the wonderful world of retail after 3 decades, I realized I would now have
an extra 60 hours a week to enjoy top-down motoring. And an S2000 seemed to meet my criteria.
However, Mrs Raff (my chief financial advisor) ruefully pointed out that remodeling projects, an increase
in health insurance premiums from $500 to $1,200 a month, and the tanking of the 401K and stocks in general
make temporarily holding off on this purchase the sensible thing to do.
Her suggestion was to wait till later this year when I turn 65 - my plan of collecting SS and the reduction in health care insurance
would be like getting a pay raise.
As usual her logic is flawless and so we wait a little longer.
I just realized this should have gone in the new vintage member section -- my apologies.

You should feel free to join in here any time, Raff. As to becoming an owner, I'm sure you are aware that the S2000 will not be manufactured any longer after this summer, so if you are planning on getting a new one the 09 model is the last. Maybe you should at least think about putting your order in. Of course you will also be able to find good pre-owned S2000s on the market. What part of the country are you from?

Welcome, Bob. I once knew a swimmer named Bob. He had no arms or legs.......oops, that goes in another thread.
I get down your way occasionally. Dixie Region SCCA has some events at the South Georgia Motorsports Park in Cecil.
