Default Help with avatar

Never having added an avatar, I thought I would stick one in there. The instructions say a picture no larger than 6kb. Is that correct? I downloaded to my album the picture I want to use, but it's 44kb after best efforts to shrink it down. But I don't see how to choose a picture from my album for my avatar. Anybody want to help me out? Thanks.

I do mine in Microsoft's Photo Editor. I shrink it down to about 0.49" width and 0.26" in height and be sure to save that. Then go into My S2K and scroll down the menu at the left side to Edit Avatar Settings. Toward the bottom will be Your Image Avatars with a Browse button. Use the Browse button to find the file in which you've saved your photo, click on Open, and then click Update Avatar at the bottom of the page.

Well, I know where to find it and edit etc. and I tried shinking it to the size you suggested, but it still won't download. Says the file is too big. I got it down from half a meg to only 39kb. How the heck can I make it only 6? This is nuts!

E-mail an original of the picture to me (preferably not the one you've been editing) and I'll shrink it and send it back to you...I'm not very good with talking someone through this stuff and just figured out how to do it myself not too long ago

Thanks, that worked! This is my only "daughter" when I first got her. To see what she looks like now, check out the picture thread here in Vintage. I think it's still the last picture, or last page at least.

I remembered her from that thread. Between you and Kyras, you almost make me want to get another dog, and that one being a Shepherd!
