Sweet! Although I was born in the early 60"s I do remember most of it.

I don't know.

How many of your friends did you lose to drug overdoses?
How many of your friends did you lose in Vietnam?
How many came home disabled?
How many never came home at all?
How many were horrified by Kent State?
How many cried when Joplin, Hendrix and Morrison died?
How many dropped out and still haven't found themselves?
How many went to college just to beat the draft and ended up in careers they hate?
How many lost all faith in the government and refuse to trust it to this day?
How many cried over the assassinations and wept over the violence?
How many really liked having one generation played against the other?

I love the music of the sixties, and I look back at those years with a lot of fondness. I was in my teens and inspite of all of the above I had a lot of fun, but when I think about those years maybe they really weren't anywhere near as romantic as we like to remember.

I don't know.

I grew up in the fifties. And I'm glad that I did.

Emil,

I agree with you, there are always pluses and minuses, but I do think it's better today. Believe it or not I think there's more opportunity today, and once we get past this troubled period I think the future will be very bright.

Actually, I don't think we had it so very bad being teenagers in the 60s, but they were really turbulent times. I really don't think that they were nearly as grand as many of us remember them to be.

Rob,
I think I'd take the sxties over the 70's to be a teen. Of course then again I never had to pull a lottery number. I did grow up with Nam over my shoulder for most of my sentient life as a kid.
The 70's were more like the hangover after a party.

Roughly translated - "When I look at myself, I feel desolate; when I compare myself to others, I feel consoled."
