Default Hey MsP

MsP, I read this article in WaPo today, do the Nats really have that much trouble selling tickets, that they are trying to keep the "rude, obnoxious" Phillies fans out? I just thought this was odd, like trying to keep Yankees fans out of Boston, or vice versa.

Well, ticket sales are not spectacular, but I'm thinking it's the second reason. The Phillies fans have gotten a bad reputation here for being, as you said, rude and obnoxious. I may just get a couple of tix myself.

Phillies fans are fans. They are loud and boisterous, and that might be confused as obnoxious, but no more so than the Redskins fans in Phila.

They boo their own here, they boo Jason Werth in DC. I have a hard time believing that keeping out paying fans is going to help the future of a sports franchise, but then again I am a bit of a Phillies fan.

BTW, if you want to see "boisterous" fans, just watch when Jagr takes the ice in Pittsburgh for the Flyers.
