I need to run over to that fantasy thread and say my fantasy would be to live in a hut in Brookgreen Gardens. ....
It looks great Val! I clicked on the "directions" link to the MAP.....fun to scroll up and down the coast in that area It looks like a on Rte 17 would be an absolute blast!

We should turn this into a "directory" of links to some of the fantastic GARDENS around the S2K country

Can we start with Rick's beautiful garden? I'd like to see that little guy in person (the gnome, not Rick).

ROFL!!! SOOOOO funny. Hopefully the porch will be finished this week. We have to wait a couple/months for the wood to season before we can stain it though. I'm all for just leaving it natural for a while anyway. However, this is Mr. Jim's project and I'm TOTALLY staying out of it. If he asks, I say, whatever you want dear.

It IS beautiful and covers over 9,000 acres!! I've been down there at least 15 or 20 times and still haven't seen it all. A cruise down 17 is HELL. Traffic is a total bite.

I always knew you were a smart woman. That "yes dear-whatever you think is best" works every time (both ways).

Then I guess I'd better ask Jim if I can sit on his porch before it gets stained, eh? Better yet, tell him I'll bring the stain and we'll all watch him stain it. lol

Oh no, I was thinking of coming down 17 from Wilmington (?). Is that the only good route?

Ya see that bench? That's just where I want to park it. I love your little slice of heaven. I haven't put any flowers out yet but I did mulch my hosta garden over the weekend. Seems the ol' back and knees ain't what they used to be.

Since this seems to be turning into a garden thread, I'll add this... When I moved from Acton, I asked the ex if I could take some of the roses. He said, "No." Why would I ask? They were mine in the first place. Anyway, I don't really have a place for a rose garden here so I just took my most favorite one, all cut back to bare root, and potted it. It did nothing from February until about two weeks ago. It's alive! It's got new red leaf growth and it's going to make it. I'm so happy!

This is the rose it makes...

It's called Moon Shadow, I think.
