Oohhhh...top down in an S, cruising the Million Dollar Highway in the crisp autumn air. I wish I had one here for the Peak-to-Peak.

But thanks to Hertz, I've got a Chevy Equinox. I've got to fetch my parents from over Fraser way later in the week, so it's probably the right thing, but, still...

Mike, I think you'll be interested in the changes at Harbor Branch. They have state funding now (but, uh, not for the ship program) and are not so off on their own. On the other hand, FAU has a very interesting, large-scale project that they're involved in, along with the R/V Johnson. So things are improving, I think. HPH

It's a good thing I've got a supply of bottled water and canned goods. We may be stuck in this thread for quite a while before the air in Vintage is safe to breathe again. What's the half life of flame war fallout?

Well, I went in and survived. Honestly, although this dustup seemed particularly nasty, it will pass as all others have. Those of us who have been around a long time have history on our side (I hope).

As another who has been around for a long time (see member number and age), I apologize to the community for being one of the combatants. I should have behaved in a more mature fashion.

Thanks to Bill for 'going into' the battle zone and declaring peace.

I am done.....celebrating Sunday as a day of rest, and will behave for as long as zziiipppyy does.
