Nope. Wants me to sign in. Thanks for trying.
Odd, I had no problem.
Guess that's cause he's a "guest."

You may be right. Ijust clicked a link on one of Lainey's threads and ended up on the Price Grabber web site. Is this something the new owners have programmed into the site?

Absolutely nothing. But, my question is, why not sign up for Flickr? Doesn't cost anything and then you could see the pics.

Keeping different species of tortoises is also something I'm considering. Depending on the species, they can be kept outside for most of the year here. And building a suitable pen for them wouldn't be difficult to do.
I'm betting you will find something and be passionate about it. If you go 150 gallons you can have something spectacular. My last aquarium was two big oscars. The got excited when I came to the glass and ate out of my hand. very hardy fish too.
Most of my focus was on keeping live corals. Back in the good old days when I still had the tools, I used to build my own tanks and filtration systems. I built a few glass tanks, but most were acrylic. The largest one I ever built for my own use was a 350 gallon, Indo-Pacific reef tank. Between the high intensity lighting, chiller, pumps, and water conditioning and filtration system that thing cost me a small fortune in electric bills every month. It sure was nice to look at, though.

I don't sign up for very many on-line services, Gene. I don't need the junk e-mail and the less information about me that is avaialble on the internet, the better. I don't want to side track Dean's hobby thread on this issue and Vintage has had this discussion before. In summary, the more stuff you have on the internet, the easier it is for the Legal Bills of the world to kill you if you ever have any legal problems. And only very foolish people think they will never have any legal problems.

There is something weird going on with with this approach. I had been using my iPhone to upload to Flickr and post to the forum. The link to Flickr only went to the pictures if I opened the post first, then clicked on the link. I tried it in my PC and I can only get the Flickr sign-in screen as Bill experienced. I just ried exactly the same process on my Mac and it works fine. I don't have any answer yet.

Yup. My Apple computer opened them with up. What do you call the sails that rigged under the jib boom? I've not seen those before.

Bill - Do you have any recommendations for a good spinning reel? I need one for the new seven foot, light action, traveling spinning rod I bought. I'll be using six pound test, and it'll be used primarily for freshwater. Also, I want to keep the price under $200.
I'm not familiar with some of the newer - to me - manufacturers. My favorite spinning reel many years ago was my trusty Garcia Mitchell 300, just to give you an idea of how long it's been since I've bought fishing equipment other that my fly fishing stuff.

Also, back in the good old days, monofilament was used on spinning reels and braided line was used on bait casting reels. I see that there are braided lines available for spinning reels as well. Have you used them? And what's your opinion of them?

I think they are jibs or "handkerchiefs" as opposed to flying jibs, the triangular sails above the bowsprit. Jibs seem to apply to any sails forward of the foresail.

Just from reading and looking at drawings, I know the sails rigged above the bowsprit are outer jib, inner jib, flying jib and fore topmast stay sail. But I've never seen the sails you have rigged underneath. But I've heard of handkerchiefs, so that makes sense.
