I like having played courses that have held major events.
Blackwolf Run River Course had the Women's open.
Whistling Straits had PGA and Rider cup.
Erin Hills had both mens and womens US open.
I really want to add someone with a Scottish flair like The old course or Carnoustie.
it really changes your viewing perspective when you remember the hole.
Although that bunker you were just short of, isn't even a worry for them, they landed 80-120 yards over it.
When you get down to it, golf is a sIlly sport but man o' man can it kick the crap out of you.
You're swinging a club maybe 60 times (score less putts) if you are bad golfer. putts shouldn't even count as taking effort.
Riding a cart so you aren't even walking that far and yet...
The question becomes how do you expend so much effort?
OK I know I'm out of shape, but i was fighting muscle cramps all night.
got a long way to go and a short time to get there.....
I just looked up a golf resort that we often stop to eat at since it's near a neat lake. I cracked up when this came up.
Seems they are closed, so we will be grilling at home tonight. That's what you should do on the 4th right? We have brats, dogs, etc. for a fall back plan.
So yeah this would be an excellent model in anyone's collection.

The only problem is the price.
What a total rip off. Eager collectors fools will have a choice between two sizes, though they will be very exclusive and cost a pretty penny. Amalgam is offering just 30 examples of the larger 1:8 scale models for $28,995 and 300 units of the smaller 1:18 scale models for $1,735.
1:43rd scale Schuco Junior Line MGB diorama, 27030
Schuco is a German toy maker founded in 1912 in Nuremberg Germany. In 1999, Schuco was acquired by the Simba Dickie Group and the model boxes were labeled "Dickie Schuco". Under Dickie, the quality of the models is superior to the average toy model vehicles, therefore unit prices are higher as well.
Schuco is generally recognized for tin wind-up models. Wind-up toys don't come cheap and are not very well suited for young children. Therefore, In the summer of 2000, decided to issue a less costly alternative in the shape of low-cost 1/43 scale diecast car models. This series was issued under the name of "Schuco Junior Line". The majority of Schuco models are still crafted by hand and are produced in China and Madagascar, among other places.
I guess I did very well with the model diorama I bought for $6 at the MG auction. I had a tough time prying off the plastic cover, which had never been removed. The MGB still had clear tape around it. The parts were really locked in place. I decided to swap the MGB for a MGA if I could get it apart without wrecking it. Plus they had the gas going into the front of car. Dah. I did not want to wreck it because according to one seller it is priceless. One is listed on eBay for $199.00 and another at $59.00.
By carefully dismantling it I was able to replace the Schuco MGB with a Corgi MGA 1600 and place it so the gas is going in properly.
Finally finished restoring a 1960s Atlas 618 Lathe. The color looks pinkish in the videos and pic from my phone but it is not at all. My phone camera just sucks. It is just a strong deep cherry red. The tape is covering the spindle bearing oil holes. I am making new oiler covers for it. Now I just need to finish the 1960s Bridgeport restoration and then on to my still working but with issues 1943 Gallmeyer and Livingston surface grinder. Hydraulics are leaking and need replaced. I found the metal plaque showing it was approved by the war board/commission under all the layers of paint.
Finally! After winning a round for 3 with the member/host two years ago, my friends and I finally had the chance to play Metedeconk National GC in Jackson NJ yesterday.
We had the whole "walk with a caddy" experience. Weather was great (we cancelled twice this year, once for 100 degrees, once for rain). and had mid-70s, partly cloudy weather. The only issue was 30 mph winds almost all day, and of course, generally in our face. I'm a 13.5 index, my course index was 17 and I shot a 93. My friend is a 2 index, his course index was still a 2 and he shot almost 90. Made me feel good. From our tees, the slope was 140! Rough was brutal, greens like lightning, but very true and the caddies were very good at reading them. I only 3 putted 1 time, which I'm very happy with.
For the golfers. MNGC has hosted a Korn-Ferry event in recent years. They have one of the top practice areas in the country. The place is spectacular. The holes are pretty isolated from each other, but you know you're on a course. I've played mountain courses where there's 18 individual holes and there's no sense of a course. This wasn't the case.
Our sponsor was Jim Piazza. He runs the Timothy J Piazza Foundation. Tim is his son and was the PSU student killed in a hazing incident in 2017. Tim and his wife now travel the country speaking at universities and trying to change the fraternity culture. He also donated a golf certificate to Darts for Dreams last year and we expect the same this year. Super nice guy. For people that have won and played with a host, that's not always the case.
He retired from his job last year and has a wide network of friends. He has already played 130 rounds of golf this year! 130!!! His comment during lunch was basically - if someone calls me to play, I play.
My retirement plan was to travel with the better half and play more music. I’ve played the saxophone for quite a while - even met my wife on a gig nearly 30 years ago.
The day job had me traveling almost every week so it didn’t leave time for a ton of music. Since retiring the music opportunities have really been growing. Playing with a few different bands and have my own little soul jazz/funk/r&b band.
Dream gig over the last couple of weekends. Two shows in Seattle and one in Vegas with Tokyo Groove Jyoshi. Those young ladies are awesome.
Their biggest hit, Funk #1 has 24,000,000 views on YouTube so far. Out of control fun and an honor to play with them.
