Home Security Systems

I've called three services for estimates. ADT, Allied and a local service. We'll see what they have to offer. One of them advertises that you get a discount on your homeowner's insurance if you get a system. Does anyone know if that is true?
Val,
If you get a system, be sure a trusted neighbor, family member that lives near by has a key. If you get a call from the security company, the police will too.. It is obviously best to have someone you trust make sure nothing has been disturbed and they can make sure the premises are secure.
We've received calls from time to time when my sis can't be reached and her alarm has gone off.
Last time it was because she had forgotten to lock a door.

Valentine, I think Phil (Ruined 2) is in the Security Alarm business. You might PM him directly.
thanks Patty. Lainey, our neighbors across the street have a key and access to our house and have had it for years. Unfortunately for us, they're travelers and sometimes are away at the same time we're away. I'm hoping whoever we end up getting a system from has a solution to that problem. I'm not concerned about material things of any great value since we're not owners of that much stuff. What I really hate is the idea of some creep just being in my house and going through my things or stealing credit cards. The trauma of a house burglary is horrible. It happened to me once many years ago and it took FOREVER for me to feel safe in my own home.
