Honda Spring Fling 2017 - 05/05/17 to 05/07/17

When I called the other day I was told by the Hilton Reservation Desk (NOT the hotel) that the S2000 room block was sold out. But I got a rate for two Queens from Friday to Sunday at $120.80 and then a Sunday night rate of $129.98 ??

I'm not sure where those numbers came from, but I checked the hotel site and Hilton reservations (not the hotel) for rates for May 5 through May 7 and the cheapest rate I could get was $135 a night. I checked the AAA, AARP, Senior Rate, and the Gov't rate. The Gov't rate was the best but no rooms were available for those dates at the Gov't rate. I even threw in my exalted status with Hilton (I'm using points for my room. Gotta love 3 years of international travel and month long stays in Hilton hotels ) and couldn't get a better rate.

I'm a little confused, Ken...but I just reserved a room from Thursday to Sunday for $124 a night, so I guess all is well
I will register for the event as soon as I can hammer out a few more details and be 100% sure.

I still need to book the hotel, flights and rental car. Oh, yeah, and maybe loose 30 lbs. Oink. My honey, Ricky, has a son who works in Manhattan. He'd like to work in a visit with him on our trip. I'm thinking we should probably visit with his son first, then get a rental car to come to Spring Fling, and loose the car at our fly home airport. Opinions?

It would definitely be much easier to get a convenient flight to NYC (okay, Newark, NJ) than to Harrisburg, PA and probably less expensive as well. I'd stick to public transportation (Uber and/or taxis) until you were ready to leave NYC. (Parking anything in NYC can be the equivalent to a month's rent). For a nice way to leave NYC, you can take the Pier 11 or World Trade Center ferry to Jersey City and pick up a rental car there (saves NY taxes and gas is cheap in NJ)
