Default How funny is this

Well, last week I called the local dealer from whom I did NOT buy my S2000 to take it in for the second gear popout problem I'm having. When I called, I said I need to bring my '06 S2000 in for repair and the service guy said, Oh, is that THAT RED ONE? I nearly died laughing because I hadn't even told him my name. He said, I see you EVERYWHERE. I laughed some more. Well, I took it in this morning and its still there and I was out all morning with +1 and just got home. I had two messages on my answering machine as follows: "hey, I was just over at the Honda garage and saw your little Valentine in there. Hope its just an oil change," and . . . hey, I was just by the Honda garage and saw your little Valentine car over there. Hope everything's okay." How funny is that? I love it!!

I've heard of that problem Valentine. I've read about it in Tell Honda.

Oh, to the pluses and minuses of living in a small community.

We have a neighbor two houses away about 800' that I have never even seen. They pull their vehicle directly into their garage when the come home. They have lived there over a year and I have no idea what they even look like.

You should be happy that people are looking out for you.

I also bought my S from an outlying dealership -- because they were not adding the extra $10,000 markup above invoice that all the other dealers were charging during the first year of the S. But I have always taken my car to the local dealership nearby for service and warranty work; and they have taken very good care of me. They even repaired the bent valves in my engine after the factory warranty had been expired for over 15,000 miles. So I recently bought an extended warranty from them.

Perhaps they're in witness protection too.

Val - I hope they get your car worked out this time.

Sorry to hear about the pop out on second gear, hope they fix it soon. But as far as knowing your car and you that is a hoot. I assume your license plate indicates your call sign as Valentine and the fact that you have a NFR is just so perfect, hard to not notice such coolness.

Well, I brought Valentine home yesterday. Everything's been checked out and I took a drive with the Service Manager as my passenger when I went to pick it up (NO VTEC ) . The car behaved perfectly and the Svc Mgr was wonderful. He said if the problem re-occurs, they'll do anything necessary to repair it. Apparently the fine folks at Honda say there is no reason for this to occur in MY car since the TSB for this problem does not include cars in my VIN range . I feel confident that it'll be fine and I'll take it back if I have any more problems. Apparently there were only some adjustments needed. We'll see.

I know that the S is noticeable and with those identifying plates I have to behave myself or face the music. SOMEBODY will tell on me.
