Wow, you guys sure are friendly. I've got other friendly homes, but will definitely add this place to my list

Granny, I don't think you'll have any problems keeping up with Jim (j/k). You should come out anyway. We go out there to have fun, not necessarily trying to become an F1 driver. I have a parts car, it's stuck in Canada My mechanic has no experience with the S600, but he's up for the challenge. There's always Brian Baker's expertise to fall back on just in case. We've got lots of friendly folks in Houston, vintage and non-vintage. BBQ here is hard to beat, especially with any of the Mikeska BBQ pits in Columbus, Temple, or El Campo. True blue Texan? My family in Cali think it's quite cute to hear words like "y'all" come out of my mouth.

Ellen, I definitely need to check out your websites for sure. Any luck with getting parts from Garage Iwasa? Seems like they have a nice source of S600/S800 parts. Hopefully my hook-ups here can get me some stuff from Japan. I just bought an original S600 service manual. Too bad it's all in Japanese (time to hit my buddy up for some translation duties).

Triple-H, I found the S600 in a Hemmings ad that stated: "1965 S600, $10,000. Ultra-rare luggage rack." I called just for kicks. Was told the car's not running (ok, not interested at all). But it has a rare luggage rack (so?). But car's pretty much complete with full interior and rebuilt motor, but never been cranked (ok, slightly interested again). By the way, if there's anything broken, just use the parts car included in the deal (hmmm...). Parts car contains everything including another spare but blown motor, interior missing (salivating...). It's got a crappy hardtop on top of it too (dayum, ok I'll buy it).

I'll post pics in a separate thread on here. I did post another thread in a few sites including here (Gallery forum). But you know how those irascible hooligans on there are: "drop an F20C motor in it!!!"

PLEASE keep the original engine... that is what makes the car We had one guy come to a Gathering at Brian's with a S body and a Datsun motor Not that they did not also make nice little cars then but come on - don't call it an S600 with a Honda 600 engine in it!!!

I've never gotten parts there but believe Brian has. I have original manual and parts manual both in mostly English - some of the translation is pretty strange At least you have pictures of what goes in what order, that should be some help.

Glad to see more s600 owners on the site. Wish it was a hobby I could afford. Sadly I lack both the cash and the patience. Been thinking about an old Spitfire, though.

I grew up in Temple, and my best friends in high school both worked at Clem Mikeska's BBQ. My favorite currently is Schoepf's in Belton.

Damn, all of the sudden, I just got really hungry!!.

I'll be back in Temple over President's Day weekend, and I'm sure there will be lots of BBQ to eat then.

I call it Jenglish - it looks like English, but the words make no sense. I do some work in Japan, and will be there in March, and with all the trips there, I still have a great deal of trouble with Jenglish. Of course, they do much better with English than I do with Japanese.

Thanks you! I try to tell the Memphis and North/South Carolina crowd this but they continue to argue with me. And yes, I know it's all subjective but there's nothing like Texas Bar-B-Q, I agree. Now you've got me wanting to know how many Texans we have in Vintage. Hummmmm
OK everyone imagine this with a Texas drawl

Hail, s'far as Memphis, pulled pork ain't barbecue, and them idjuts in Carolina - tomato sauce and vinegar just ain't bbq sauce.

Best barbecue ribs I've ever had was in an Italian restuarant in Chicago.

I never laugh at anyone who can speak more languages than I can - which is like 1 and 1/16 I can ask for beer and bathroom in French but not much more

I can count to ten in Japanese, and ask for a big glass of water. I can also count to ten in Chinese. I can also ask for beer in Australian - oh wait - I don't think that counts as a foreign language.

Then you've probably heard of the little town where I was born, Cameron. Small world.
