I have a "cheat file" where I store usernames, real names, plus one names, bdays and car info. Sometimes I read thru it right before a meet
I try to meet, talk with, and remember at least one new person or couple at every meet I goto.

So instead I enjoyed seeing many of the familiar faces and getting to know some of them better instead of meeting new. I actually knew most of the people there to some degree.
S2K Days next month will be the complete opposite... I will only know 10 people there instead of NOT knowing 10 people there

Vodka is an old acquaintance I haven't seen in a long time
I hope I get to hang out with Rose again, she's alot of fun

I have an S2K? I guess I should find my garage, then, eh?

My memory is definitely slipping...esp for names. When I travel from basement to 3rd floor, I usually forget what I came to pick up....until I think about it for a minute
As others have said, I rarely bother to clutter my brain with phone numbers.....now that it's all in the cell phone directory etc.
OTOH, I'm best at remembering details of events and physical objects/ locations. A few weeks ago, my older brother asked me about the layout of the house that we grew up in. I say down and sketched a floor plan for all 3 floors in about 15 minutes....sent it to him in the mail. I had last been in the house in 1955!
while I don't recall the source which given the context of this thread isn't surprising, I read an article which asserted that we tend to do or best work in our twenties.
simply stated that once we get into our thirties, it's not that we have less mental capacity but we just have more junk taking it up.
did I pay the mortgage, do I have to pick up the kids, what should I use for grub killer..... etc etc etc.

Wonder where they keys are?....
Dave
I can remember wierd stuff like
My service number (11979441)
The signing of the Magna Carta (1215, Runnymede)
My street address where we lived for a year when I was 7 (108 Stark Avenue)
Avogadros Number (6.02 x 10**23)
The name of my first grade principal (Sister Mary Phillips)
The first stanza of Lewis Carol's "Jabberwocky"
(Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe)
...but I can't remember names worth a darn (unless they are from my youth). I once went to introduce my wife to someone at a party and drew a complete blank on her name...and this after 10 years of marriage!) There is plenty more I can't remember, but I don't recall what all it is.
I do, for some odd reason, always remember my wife's birth date, social security number, and the date of our anniversary.
