I've got friends in Austin, but they live on a hill, so I assume that is better.

Yikes, watching live video of people in SE Houston wading/swimming away from their flooded homes near I-45 looking for help.

Still all safe! Some pics from our front door. So far we have had about 15+ inches of rain in Bellaire. The high water is now only a few inches below our front door threshhold. Other houses on the block have water inside. So far we only have a couple of inches of water in the garage. But it looks like we have long way to go.

2 story home? Do you have plenty of food and water?

Yes, thanks, we prepared well. We have plenty of supplies. My daughter's car is under water, even up in her driveway. The storm is just not budging; no movement, nothing there to push it away. So we may get more rain than we have gotten already, up to 24" more in Houston.

I looked at where the Buffalo Bayou runs. Quite a ways. And that is not even near you. So glad you are as prepared as you can be. Are any of your kids there with you? Daughter with the underwater car is the older one? Where does she live?

Maybe the question of the day...How many in your neighborhood have flood insurance?

Yes, my older daughter lives about a mile from us. Her house is one story and it sits up pretty high, but the water is 3-4 ft + deep on her street. Water is still rising...
