Default I Counted to Ten Before posting this

Most of you know me. I like to kid around as much as anyone but when the situation presents itself, I try to show compassion.

The horrendous shooting that occurred in Crandon Wisconsin prompted me to got to the upper midwest forum and make an entry.

I essentially passed on my best wishes and prayers to the families of any who were impacted by this horrible event.

The thread was posted this morning and now I find it has been deleted. Having experienced this once before when I was indiscreet enough to mention that other group, I realize this is how things are over here.

No explanation was given for this action.

I think the powers that be should realize this forum is not only about S2KI but about people.

This is all I will say about this.

I am going to maintain a copy of this entry in case "they" decide it is unworthy to be posted here.

This will be my last year as a member of S2KI.

My guess is that somebody said something inappropriate. Why would you think your post had anything to do with the thread being deleted?

Or maybe the mods in that group didn't want to talk about it there. Is that a group you normally read? Every group has it's own unique dynamic, and some stay relentlessly "on topic" while others are "anything goes".

Reasons should always be given before a thread is deleted. Threads are not supposed to be physically deleted, but put into what is called the Dumpster by the CO of the respective forum. Your thread should be there. PM the the COs of the UMW forum and ask about it. Having been a CO for four years, I know what the guidelines are. You can also put a thread out in Site Info about this issue. The COs have their own forum where these kinds of issues are discussed. You should get an explanation of what happened.

If there were the case, then I would expect them to give me some explanation.

They owe me that.

Is this your thread?

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=532575

It looks like the Upper-Midwest folks have an off-topic subforum, and they moved your thread to it.

^ That is OK...some COs show the move in the forum from which it was moved, and others do not. They do have that option. The CO acted appropriately in this case, but I personally think the CO should indicate the move so there is no confusion about what happened to the thread.

I always posted an explanation when I moved a thread, coupled with a link in the forum from which it was moved. It is just good policy to avoid what happened here. But COs are not required to do either.

Well, I am putting this behind me and moving on. Too much negative energy being wasted on this.
Thanks to all for your words of support. I guess I need to have thicker skin.

Thanks again.
