I bought my 2011 Crosstour when I read about them on here! I had a 2008 RAV4 4wd but hated the front seat. Gene, are you going for 4wd?

Gene, the GOOD news is that Honda's CPO program is among the best, at least as far as the warranty goes. Or used to be a few years back when I bought a CPO Accord. 100K miless and 5 years from date of first delivery (I think) on the powertrain. The bad news is that last I checked a very low mileage CPO Fit was priced a few hundred above the cost of a brand new one. (Both were same model year.)

my 2 cents:
I would tell each dealer that you were going to the other dealer after you looked at his car, even if you had already been to the other dealer. Then stand up and start walking, if they had not satisfied you yet.

When I bought my 2009 Rav, I had a 2007 near the end of the lease which I told the dealer they could have for the payoff. They checked it out and THREE times came in to tell me what they had found was wrong that made it not worth it to them. (a different thing each time) My response each time was, if you don't want it that's okay, I'll take it home. The last time they came in, they said okay, we'll take it. I was ready to take it home too, had a friend with me to drive it.

Thanks, Jerry, but think we have found almost a direct replacement: same color, same options, same mileage, same year, and best of all, a little below the insurance settlement amount.. Going to check it out tomorrow after talking to the salesman and his "manager" today. Let's see if the offer holds up in person. If not, we walk, cause we have another one in the wings.

Not bad at all. I do like the mileage. Still $2.5 over the one I found a lot closer. I'll sure keep it in mind.

And thanks for the advice, everyone. Unfortunately, I have time and monetary constraints that prohibit me from pursuing all the options I would normally if I were just car shopping. I need to get the car by the weekend.

When we bought Kathy a new CR-V in Sept/Oct, hated the ar buying experience.

Dealership and its minions were just a bunch of frickin idiots...

I wish you luck Gene.....

I have worked with a number of guys who have purchased cars sight unseen ( my S is one of them) and then (not me) had them shipped to their house. This was from leased cars from reputable dealers with all the dealing over the phone and email with pics. I have never met one who has not been more than satisfied.

You can buy a car in San Diego and have it shipped. Who cares if the price is right?

Unlocking briefly to update:
Picked this up today. It's like the commercial says: "It's like it never even happened!"

Same mileage, same interior, and negotiated the price under the insurance co's settlement offer! Even has pin-striping and some kind of paint finish that the previous owner was suckered into buying.

A great dealership, after all. No upsell or anything! Price quoted over the phone was the price we paid. BelAIr Honda of Maryland. In Canberra's neck of the woods.
