Default Ice Hockey 2017-2018 Season

Another hockey season will be starting soon. If you love the game like we do, this is the place to post your comments.

No team has worse odds of winning the Stanley Cup this season than my Detroit Red Wings. They have no where to go but up According to Bovada.lv, the Red Wings' odds of winning the Cup are 100-1. That's the same as the expansion Vegas Golden Knights, as well as the Arizona Coyotes, Colorado Avalanche, New Jersey Devils and Vancouver Canucks.

The two-time defending Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins are favored to three-peat, coming in at 7-1. They're followed by the Edmonton Oilers at 9-1 and two teams, the Chicago Blackhawks and Dallas Stars, at 12-1. Deb, your Caps are at 14-1.

Emill, Montreal Canadiens odds are 20-1; Los Angeles Kings come next at 22-1; followed by Paul's Boston Bruins at 25-1.

Only time will tell and we all know its a (too) long season.

Kings are going to be another question mark, this season. Predicting that the Red Wings will be worse than the Sabres or Avalanche is not good.

Not sure what I think about the Caps...they (like the Nats) fall apart in the playoffs. So I'm always afraid to get too enthusiastic about either one. As for the Skins, they stink as usual, so I have no interest in them.

Wings played their first game (pre-season) in their new arena Saturday night. Lots and lots of empty seats.

It will be a whole lot of not good if that's the case when the season starts next month.

Default Dallas Stars!

The Stars have made a lot of changes during the off-season - new coaching staff, new starting goalie, in addition to the signing of a few FA's. The big question is, can Hitchcock install his system, integrate the new players and get them all to buy in? If so, it could be a very good year.
