My biggest mistake was abdicating responsibility for my life to my husband. The mistakes we made, were his decisions and the sucesses we had were also the result of his decisions. My second mistake, after realizing that my husband could not share as partners, was to keep trying to create a partnership. I should have ended the mariage after 10 years, not kept wishing for 24 years.
I've been divorced 7 years now. I've found a better job, I'm happier, and I'm slowly developing courage. The inside of my house is painted different colors and my car is the S000.

Right on, guys!

Thing is, I'd love to do this, but choices already made in my life leave me no place for school now. Again, if my ship ever comes in and gives me some freedom to do it, I will. I really hope that happens around the time my kids grow up and I have a life where I can focus on myself again.

I'll meet that challenge. Take accounting/auditing and you've got all the help you need.

Community college is relatively inexpensive, and only a few hours a week. Many of them are even offering online and on air courses these days, and fully accredited no less. It might give you a better idea of whether you want to pursue something full time later on when your circumstances allow. But if you're going to be a big chicken...

Hey Smokee -

You want to sit in with my band on Thursday? Guitar always welcome.

Very casual gig - we have folks sit in all the time.

Keys, Drums, Bass and me (saxophones)

Mostly jazz/funk.

No cover. 7:30 until 9:30 or so.

Here's a map. It's just north of the train station.

On topic: Regrets? Nothing I would go back and do (except maybe learning the piano) . I used to regret not going to an Ivy Leauge school (had the grades and extracurriculars) but not any more.

Since retiring last month, that's what I've done.
I took a computer course to kind of get used to school again.
So far so good. I'm staying focused and getting A's.
The main regret I had was not staying in college and getting a degree when I was young.(with the draft and all, I lost focus)
I also have a desire to learn that I didn't have then.
My main goal is to get a degree to help my kids get ready for college.

geezer, sounds great!

Dean, that's some good advice. Maybe someday when my feathers have been sufficiently plucked...

I'd sell my Nasdaq stocks in January 2000.

When the time comes and should you find yourself needing help navigating the maze and bureaucracy of academia , just let me know. I know a little bit of stuff about that kind of thing.
