I probably ate too much today too. Hit the Y and used the stadium stairs for exercise. My phone says 12 flights climbed...that's up and down about 24 times. The downs don't count..and two "ups" = one flight as far as I can tell. I took a 1/2 hour core class after. Not a sweating a lot kind of exercise, but good for the body. The parking lot was pretty full. It's January!

Not such a good start. I've been good with my exercise plan, but not so much with my diet plan. I'm suffering from the winter blues, and coming to grips with being home by myself all day now that I'm retired. Too easy to cheat. Bought salad fixings at the grocery yesterday for my lunches.

Gym memberships are cheap....if you don't like being in all day, you might want to check one out. You'd get your exercise and some social time as well. My retirement plan is for more time at the YMCA. The Y has a good offering of fitness classes, not just exercise equipment. Just a thought.

186.3!! So I dropped a pound in a day where I thought I ate too much. Yippee for me! I now have a head cold and I really have to get rid of it ASAP. My plan is to keep exercising. I hope that isn't a mistake.

Generally speaking, it's OK to exercise if symptoms are above the neck. Be more careful if the cold is in your chest. Lots of fluids and rest aren't bad either. My scale nudged down a bit too and Tuesdays are not usually a good weigh in day as the weekend catches up to me.

Geez..............I dropped my shield and fell belly first upon my sword.

I got tired of starving. So, prior to the Clemson game last night I made pot roast with gravy and raclette melted over it, red potato roasted in beef broth and acorn squash with butter and maple syrup. I knew that would halt my weight decline but I did not know that it would set me back a week.

Prior weigh in = 01/06/19 - 143.6
Today = 01/08/19 - 145.2

You're down a solid 5 lbs. You had a great meal. Stop beating yourself up. You're doing great! :clap:

We are human and will have ups and downs. It's to be expected, honest.

Valid point. Well said. I trust that your good therapy comes without a large bill in the mail?

Yes, you are correct. I have lots of experience in beating myself up. I thought about it. How come I get down on myself so hard when I would be proud of my daughter for the same thing. Made me try to be nicer to myself and it seems to me like you should be nicer to yourself, too. :)

Bill, if I recall correctly your scale has % water body fat etc?
ideally figure out if you have a actually lost body fat or is it just water content varying.
A pint of water is a pound, not really that much difference.
I tend to weight myself at night and in the morning before I rehydrate or have breakfast. I typically lose 2-3 lbs over night.
Mark inspired me to post my weight. My scale logs it. My high was 264 In April of '17 my low was about a year ago in the low 240's.
Some of that was a response to a medication called duloxetine. it's a nerve suppressor. totally killed any desire too eat.
now I'm back around 255-260. goal of 185 isn't even on the graph.
