We haven't been eating out much at all. Covid and healthier eating at home. But I had some cabin fever, time to go out to lunch. I had fish tacos which were really good, along with fries, and I ate too much. I won't eat dinner, but I know the scale won't be making a downward tick anytime soon.

My revised diet seems to be working in the weight dept. I have lost seven lbs in a month. That was not the reason, but not a bad side effect since I could afford to drop a few.

For some reason I've been climbing. I may have found it.

Me too! Between stress, depression and forgetting to turn the scale back ten pounds when we charged the clocks I have gone up!

I'm stuck.....I snack, therefore I'm stuck....making sure the scale doesn't climb anyway. I'll stick with the "a little extra weight is good for my bones" excuse for now.

I constantly go up and down about 5 pounds. I'm about in the middle of the range right now.

I'm in the same range of "I'm fat, but doing nothing about it".

Depression makes me super lazy. All I want to do is sleep. Same with crummy weather. I'm sorry you and Patty are going through cancer.

Walking (even better fast walking/power walking) is very good exercise. I try to walk at least 3 miles every day (2000 steps = 1 mile). We went to the farmers market earlier and that put me at about 2.6 miles so far today. That has made a difference in keeping the weight off. One mile burns 100 calories, which is not that much, but it all adds up. To lose one pound you have to burn 3000 calories, so 30 miles. Plus walking gets those endorphins up, which helps depression/anxiety.

Agree Deb. Time and time again, the #1 suggestion for depression is exercise. I know when life has thrown major curve balls someone's way, it's extremely hard to get motivated. I try to combine my time at the gym with a walk/stroll somewhere in the afternoon. I say stroll because I'm often lugging my camera, so now power walking there.

Once a person is really in the exercise habit, it's hard to HAVE to skip the routine. However, I can be convinced to skip a day here and there if a fun outing is suggested. Often the outing involves walking, so still getting some exercise.

My cough is finally gone, so I was able to work a little harder at the spin class today. Number of calories burned during exercise is also dependent on a person's weight. One would think a spinning class would burn a TON of calories, but today I only hit 273, according to my fit bit. It's great cardio though.
