Whatever you have to be sorry for, don't do it again. Just to refresh my memories of the lyrics of this song (by the Impalas, btw). Here are the lyrics:

I ran all the home
Just to say I'm sorry (sorry)
Please let me stay
I ran all the way
Yay, yay, yay

And now I'm sorry, sorry, sorry
I didn't mean to make you cry
Let's make amends
After all, we're more than friends
Yay, yay, yay

The protagonist in the song ran all the way HOME to say he's sorry (sung by a male...) he begs to be allowed to stay (does that mean he was going to be sent away? Maybe to military school? Maybe he has a medical problem that would keep him from going). And then that "we're more than friends"...I'm going to assume he's talking about his pet and not his sister (or brother). This is really concerning.
