Default Insurance

We have been insured by State Farm for over 53 years. We have our vehicles, Homeowners, Umbrella, Life and formerly my business insurance with them. They dropped my business insurance. I had 3 claims on it in the last 15 years. I am looking at other options. I am a vet so that will be of one of the insurers I will check out which is USAA. Any recommendations would be great.

For the S2000 look at Hagerty. I have my other cars on Progressive, but I got guaranteed replacement cost of $5k over bluebook and the higher tier 60 mile towing roadside assistance from Hagerty for a bit less than a standard ol "we are going to screw you on value if it is totaled or stolen" policy from Progressive. The way the values go up on these cars it just made perfect sense to go with them. It will depend on how many miles you drive it per year. I have mine set to 5000 miles. You can go more, but it costs more if so.

As mentioned, I have Progressive on everything else. I used them years ago and they suddenly increases rates (I had no claims) so I dropped them and have had a couple of others over the years, but then a few years ago found Progressive to be the better deal again so went back with them. While some have some small loyalty thing, I find overall (And was told this by an insurance person too) they really do NOT want you longterm most of the time, especially if you have made any claims, and so checking around every now and then is not a bad idea. But for now anyways I am happy with Progressive.

Agreed value with Hagerty for anything old (I have my MG and F150 with them). I have not found anyone who could beat AutoOwners (and I checked with several including USAA, etc.).

I am in the process of changing from Grange to Farmers. The savings were huge with the same coverage.

Next I will look at additional coverage on the S.

Have come close to Hagerty instead of USAA for the S. I have never heard of AutoOwners but when I went to check them out, the site is down for maintenance.

I have Hagerty for my TR6 and USAA for everything else. USAA isn't the cheapest, but when I was younger and had claims, they always took care of it. They've been awesome insurance. I am considering moving my S2000 and older non-daily drivers to Hagerty though to save some $$.

I have had Libert Mutual for over 40 years. Never had an issue with a claim.

I have had USAA since the mid 70s. No problems with them at all.

Add me to the USAA fan club! Wish I had switched about 20 years ago.
