I love the simple clean lines of the SL55, but omg the sl63 is droolworthy. My how 10 years makes such a difference. The interior of the 2013 is stung against the dark gray.

correction jumped 11k, seriously will probably finish closer to 40K if not higher.
that takes it out of toy budget range and into serious acquisition range and SWMBO approval.
The 09 SL65 seems to have stalled at 30K but I'm a little afraid of that car.

Not interested. The exhaust tips are dirty. Must be the detailer coming out in me.

Even at 40K, it doesn't appear to have held its value very well. That's less than a fourth of its MSRP for a car only 7 years old.

oh Gene depreciation on them is brutal.
Porsche has figured out how to make 10 less cars per year than the market wants.
Mercedes, if you want it, they will build it. plus some.
they begin to appreciate after 40 years.

If I didn't still have an '05 NSX in the garage worth about 25% more than I paid for it 10 years ago, I'd be very tempted. Time to put it on BAT? Love the looks of the Merc.

So what would maintenance on it cost me per year? SWMBO is in Florida, for a couple weeks, so she could drive it home! (I wish)

The msrp on the SL65 was something like 195k new, May go for 30-40k that’s just terrible.

I would love the novelty of that big V12 with 604HP and 738 lb-ft of torque, almost 3 S2000 engines, but previous owners didn't like to keep it.
owner 4 500 miles
owner 5 less than 1000 miles
owner 6,7,8 less than 2k miles.
and then there a several unable to replicate owners complaint in the service history.
you got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em,
know when to walk away, know when to run...

now that SL63 on the other hand has the same M157 5.5 liter biturbo 557 hp drive-line that is in my S63 coupe but rwd only.
I'll get the VMI report on it tomorrow. It does cost a ton to keep 'em on the road.
ironically same seller on both.

I wish the Sprite was last auction to close instead of the first.
in the end here is high likelihood I walk away empty handed.
