Interesting thread for Vintages.
I suppose the aspects of the OP's initial thread and follow-up replies which I find most unfathomable are these:
1) That a car can be classified as expected to be only driven by a certain age group.
2) That a car can be classified as expected to be only driven by a certain gender.
3) That anyone who has actually reached the age of 40 would still be concerned about meeting the bogus requirements of items 1 and 2 above.
4) That anyone of any age beyond 15 would post on an enthusiast's forum asking if it's sad to be an enthusiast at any age. What answer would one expect to receive?
However, he isn't from the same country as me (or even hemisphere, for that matter) so perhaps he deserves a little slack. Maybe where he's from it is customary to type-base cars by gender, age, and what the neighbors think. Maybe there it's normal to believe that only 20-something year old men are allowed to have any fun.

I was 75 when I bought mine. 60 years after the lusting for an MG TC. 40 years wasted on motorcycles, until all of my biker friends died.
Haven't had so much fun since my Goggomobil (in 59 - 61).

Haha! These 'younger whippersnappers' would be in awe if they were to look under the hood of many of the Vintage owners' cars. Emile's S is just one of many I can think of.
And I don't think any Vintage owner has ever apologized for upping the power and/or the bling.

I think it’s sad. I didn’t feel good about it until my late sixties.
