Default iPads and the next generation

Last night, goblueS2K and I were at Sam's Club.

A mother, with 2 little girls, was at the iPad display.

The mother was looking at a demonstration on one of the iPads, while one of the little girls was looking at the other demonstration.

The little girl, who appeared to be about 3 years old, was standing up in the shopping cart, and there was a demonstration of some children's games on the screen.

The little girl seemed quite adept at using the keyboard, pressing the letters and numbers to play the game.

As we left the display area, we looked at the little girl again, this time from the front rather than the back, and we were quite amused with what we saw.

She was using both of her hands for the keyboard while she was sucking on the pacifier which was dangling from her mouth!

I'm sure our parents were quite amazed at how quickly we figured out that new TV thing too.

It gave us quite a chuckle, too, Patty.

In fact, we walked back over to look at the little girl again since it just seemed so amusing.

Those kids could teach me a few things, I'm sure!

I waited in line at the Apple Store to get my hands on IPAD 2 yesterday for my wife. I waited about 2 hours before the store opened to get a voucher for the model I wanted. There were about 15 people in total waiting. Some of the folks were there for several mornings but to no avail as they were further down the line. I wanted to get 64GB 3G but the first two guys bought 2 each so I settled for 32 GB 3G. One guy who was in front of me wanted 64GB but didn't get it since they only had 4 for the day. Isn't it crazy? I don't ever go wait in line for anything such as Black Friday sort of thing but I wanted to get this for my wife. I found out later that Best Buy had a bunch of them in the store.

Anyway, it is an interesting piece of technology. My wife squints when she looks at the IPHONE so this allows her to see things better. My son put some applications on it and we'll see how this works out.
