It's amazing what they can do nowadays. I work with a guy, not that much older than I am, who is on 2 plastic hips, in other words, both sides have been all rebuilt with plastic parts. It took him a long time to really heal in to the new parts, but now, as long as he has long pants on to cover up the scars, nobody would know he has no natural hip bones.

As other have said, don't rush it, heal in slow and steady. Rushing to push yourself will have long term effects, and not good ones.

Geez, Jerry. I was just getting ready to eat dinner.

Congrats on your rapid recovery, though. The important question is: How long before you can work the clutch?

Hey, I get that. I seem to have rheumatoid arthritis in my right knee. I can drive all right but sometimes have to lift my right leg to get in in or out of the car. Walking is okay. Sleeping is not. Never had knee problems before.

I have a menagerie of pillows, or shims as my calls them. The most important one is the knee shim.

^^ I have to have one of those knee pillows as well. Jim has one too. I used to use him for my pillow, but his body's just too plain hot for me anymore.

^Isn't it funny how we all run at different temperatures? My ex was very warm and I had to stay away from him. He also got cold way too easily in my book, and didn't like it when I kept my window open. My sweetheart now, though, is just right. I can reach over and touch him anytime and we are just the right temps, together.

I had knee surgery 7 weeks ago - torn meniscus. There was very little pain after the surgery, but I had trouble sleeping. The knee would begin to burn after about an hour in one position. It took trial and error to find the right pillow for between the knees, but then sleeping was much better.

What worked for me was one of those cylindrical neck pillows. It had just the right loft to cradle my bad knee but not enough to cause pain in my hip.
