Yeah, well, if it's good enough for you, Jonas, it should way more than I need. Between you and the Best Buy manager, I got swung to HP. Go to Costco.com and you can see what they are going for now, after you customize it how you want. Kyle and I ordered it before I saved or printed the page of how I ordered it, but it was similar to what you recommended.

Got my new HP laptop today. I was just setting it up and it won't let me put in the correct date. It thinks it's Thursday the 19th. Not a good way to start. I got it from Costco.com and it came from China. Ordered it on April 6th.

This shows how computer unsavy I am. It took me quite a while to figure out how to open the laptop.

I put the battery in and wondered why it tipped the keyboard away from me. I kept pushing the buttons to open the top but nothing moved. I looked for directions.

Oh. Those were the hinges on the top. I turned it around and it opened up. Dang. Sometimes my thickness is scary!

I like that you can laugh at yourself. Not sure I would have admitted that here, with all the computer guys.....

Oh, I've been amazing myself with my thickness lately. At least I can laugh at myself. It is pretty funny.

Don't worry, Patricia. There are plenty of people here ready to laugh at... er, WITH you.

Emil, my son ordered a 14" Dell laptop on Thursday, and last night he helped me with my 15" HP Pavillion dv6000z order. He wants to get them side by side and try to compare them when we both have them.
Now that you have your HP laptop, does your son have his Dell yet? Do you know what model Dell your son is getting? In order to do side-by-side comparison, we need to know the specs of both laptops (such as processor, processor speed, memory, hard disk, etc.). Do you have the specs for both laptops? Thanks.

On another note, I'm surproced no one recommended the Lenovo (formerly IBM) laptops. Our company buys thousands of them and they are solid as a rock in all the years of usage. But they are more expensive, so I guess you do pay for the quality.
