Default Life on Mars??

https://www.earth.com/news/nasa-anno...of-confidence/

NASA announces discovery of life on Mars with high degree of confidence

There has long been he question regarding man's singularity as the sole existence of intelligent life in the universe.
We'll ignore the question of sole existence on earth Octopi etc.
Obviously there are trillions of other galaxies with billions of suns and untold planets.
Finding a rudimentary form on life on another planet in our solar system just one planet away puts s large chink in the argument that it can't exist elsewhere.
I suspect more than a few folks will be agitated by this.

Myself I think we're nothing more than another grain of sand on the beach.
But space is big and so is time. Our glorious civilization may grow flower and wither away without ever knowing of another intelligent life form.

I did see this from your link:

"At the same time, the authors stress that nonbiological chemistry could also explain the signals."

Maybe, maybe not.

I am not sure everyone is going to get wrapped around the axle on any "proof" (by UFO or Mars
exploration) of other life. I feel most people suspect life exists elsewhere.

Even the Catholic Church, although not explicitly addressing that issue, all but admits life exists elsewhere and it is almost silly to believe otherwise.

From the military/space side of the fence, we know.

We can just contact 3I/Atlas and ask them to check on the way by.

Seriously though, I dont doubt there could have been or still is life somewhere. No reason to rule it out really.

life is such a daily grind for me here on earth, I can't relate to anyone who thinks about life beyond this planet. Too bad Trump didn't open the UFO files like he promised.

This may be something or it may be a big nothing-burger. Nobody discovered life on Mars. Nasa's Perseverance rover found ancient iron phosphate and sulfide nodules which are precursors to life as we understand it. I am still rooting for a more definitive discovery, say fossils of microbial life, or maybe this guy.

Meanwhile, thanks for the chuckles, Gene and Cosmo.
