sounds like an incandescent. that would be about 18-22 watts in LED.

When ever I install or change an LED bulb I mark the date on the base with a Sharpie to see just how long they last. I have an LED bulb in the hood over the stove in my kitchen that has been on 24 X 7 for years.

I growl at my neighbors with bright outdoor lights. We live where there aren't any street lights and I love that. I want to look up and see the stars without the glare of someone's garage lights ruining my night vision. I am not out at night often but when I walk in the dark or finish an ElliptiGO ride in the dark I find them annoyingly bright. I intentionally have my five outside garage lights with low lumens and a warm color and they are only on when I need them. Not all night.

I could go to prison for shooting out blinding car lights .. I think I could handle blinding garage lights.

I am not a fan of recessed ceiling LED lights. I had an electrician come over and tell me that builder grade LED lights are not that great. LED lights keep flickering and eventually, I might have to replace all of them. What a hassle that will be!

Before we moved into our new house I replaced every fluorescent bulb the builder put in with soft white LEDs. That was 9 years ago and I have had to replace only two of them. So far so good!

over time we're replaced all of our lamps with LEDs
We may have had 2 fail.
one was an outdoor lamp that got water in it which then froze, not recommended behavior.
We probably have 28 or so embedded LED downspouts, none of which have failed.

I absolutely agree with you Patty, some of them are too high powered and harsh as hell.

Love them. Very subtle and they show up you’re beautiful home without looking like a prison yard.

Our outdoor lights are a warm color and not industrial 'prison yard' blue.
They're also on timer so turn on at sunset, and shut off at 9:00 and 9:30.

We also have one solar powered light that will stay on later but is aimed into our yard and away from the neighbors.

We have city light just a few yards from the corner of our property so there is no point in thinking about warm lighting. My new 1500 lumens bulb is nice and bright pointing out the glass top figure on the driveway pole. Since I bought a 4-pack we should be good. I didn't bother to seal it tight so it can breathe better. Gnats will love it.
