Default Lost a Page?

Weren't there 19 pages in "Joke of the Day" yesterday? Today I'm only seeing 18 pages. Last post shows as 11 February.

Not to worry. Individual posters sometimes delete their own posts, and posts with offending sigs, or content that does not follow the site posting rules are sometimes deleted or moved to the Dump by site MODs or COs as part of the job. I doubt, though, if any of yours or those of any other current Vintage members are missing. I myself did some clean up work in this thread and in the word game thread. I don't think any other posts were removed.

But then again it might have something to do with the Catskills/Henny Youngman/Milton Berle stole that joke/Area 51/ wasn't that funny anyway sort of thing.

Actually, I thought I posted a response to this OP (explaining that it was only up to Page 5, but there were indeed missing posts), but it mysteriously disappeared, too.

Dee-doo dee-doo: Welcome to the Twilight Zone of unexplained deletions.

Or maybe I just pushed the wrong button and didn't really put that response up. HPH

PanteraKitty, I thought there were several recent days when no jokes were posted. But the one late entry is outta here, I know, as are earlier ones by a troll poster.

Howard, I really doubt if any of your posts were deleted from this thread. If so it would have been accidental for sure. I do know that there was a trolling poster from outside Vintage who posts were punctuated by iterations of avatar and sig that were not permitted under our posting rules and were thus removed after discussions with Mods. COs do not like to delete other peoples' posts, so do not worry about your posts disappearing. The troll has now disappeared and will not be posting in the Vintage Forum any more. This happens from time to time on the board. We can be thankful that he is gone. There is one Forum on the board that is on the verge of being shut down, in part because of rampant trolling and an inability or failure to control the trolls.

So carry on and post up your jokes of the day. You jokster guys are great, and you make us laugh.

But please, no

^^ I'm sure nothing of mine was really deleted; rather, it was undoubtedly my fault. When I'm in a hurry and using (this) Fast Reply box, I'll sometimes push the wrong "add reply" button (the blue one), which doesn't post the fast response. I don't notice and it all goes away.

Naturally, it's my most scintillatingly witty responses that suffer that fate, but, hey, life's just that way sometimes.

And I, for one, like the fact that someone is paying attention to and dealing with inappropriate material here. Thanks, HPH

I see I am not alone on doing that; I too have done it . . . more than once. I really think it's due to a poor page layout. Perhaps the Mods could mention this to the powers above.
