I've got one of those. Mine is black powder coat. I purchased the leather straps with it. The rack works "Great" Just right for a suit case. It will hold 75lbs. I have been trying to find a completely weather-proof bag, or something that will fit it correctly!! Seem to be having trouble with that.If your wife or sig/other packs like mine does, it is a necessity!

Do you care what it looks like? If not, canoe packs or 'dry bags' will be waterproof. They would look like a backpack though, not a suitcase. Search for then on www.rei.com
Otherwise I have a dry bag for a car roof that looks nicer - made by 'Kanga' , model is 'Cyclone'.
Anyway I like the trunk rack. I'll bookmark it & years from now when I need a trunk rack I'll have lost the bookmark.
I fitted one of these (imported from the Netherlands) as soon as I bought the S2000 because I didn't think the boot (trunk) was going to be large enough to take holiday (vacation) luggage. As it happens, I have never used it because I found a set of canvas luggage (baggage) which exactly fits the boot well and the tool well below. I had in mind the buy an antique leather suitcase (valise?) to go on the rack but the antique dealer pointed out that leather is not really waterproof and my wife objected to the idea of putting her clothes in a secondhand case!

Thanx for the replies. . . . . I'm ready to place my order to include tan leather tie down straps. My question, chrome or powder coated black? GP White with Tan & Black interior.
