There is a good one in Squirrel Hill (birthplace of me) called Smallman Street Deli. They also have a location in downtown Pittsburgh. Kasha and tongue comin up

My Jewish roommate's Mom used to make this version for us in college.

Good stuff!

Another good similar item: Quinoa [often also found in the Jewish foods section]

Ummm Kasha Varnishkas. Also known as cracked buckwheat with bowtie noodles. Now the tongue, maybe not so much.

Quinoa (keen-wha) is a native central/south American grain I think, I've not seen it in many delis, but you might cous cous there.

Super Fresh has it in the Kosher Section....maybe Acme too. Whole Foods has it for sure.

Not as cheap as some grains, but my "healthy eating" +1 loves it
