I'm not so sure she'll even be convicted. I think the prosecution's case fell apart.
Ev, those cells are great.

The insider trading charge has been thrown out by the judge, on the grounds of insufficient evidence.
Jury trial on obstruction of justice and making false statements will start next week, I believe.

She's in the midst of her jury trial right now. The judge threw out the securities fraud charge--the most serious charge. What's left is conspiracy, obstruction of justice, and lying to her investigators. Closing arguments on Monday and then the jury will get their instuctions and begin deliberations.
This case has been legal Nytol for me...I haven't followed it. I have no idea what will happen.
Great cell pics, btw!

Martha was found guilty on four counts today. I was very surprised. I thought that she would be found innocent on all charges.
To go back to Wantone's original question, do you think she'll do any jail time? I don't.

And I think had the jury been composed of her true peers (corp. presidents, celebraties, et al), she would not have been convicted. I think this was the chance for the "little" guy to get back at the rich/powerful/arrogant.

I believe I heard that she will do some jail time - one to three years - and that she would not be eligible for parole. But I could be mistaken.

Actually, we had a good laugh tonight. Imagine the possiblities. Imagine if the sentence is a year of communty service. Imagine Marth decorating a homeless shelter or a drug rehab clinic.
Anything is possible.

A jury of peers does not require that all be of the same job, race or sex of the defendant. In fact, I commend the jury in her case for taking time and asking what has been reported to be smart questions.
The State obviously proved the case to the jury.
