I've always liked the Miata. Had it not been for the S I very well might have bought one. The Mazdaspeed Miata sounds like a lot of car for the money.

I found the New York Times article interesting, but I'm not sure that the author really understands these two cars.

I test-drove the MS Miata and it was a more "fun" car to drive than the S2000, but that is where it ended. The MSM is a more forgiving car, but when driving on the edge the S2k is far superior. I also feel a lot more cramped in the Miata.
