Matt I did warranty claims for a Ford dealership for 4 years... Exploder is exactly what we called 'em

If Barbara wants to have room and utility to carry things - plants, bags of mulch, whatever, she will be better off with a Fit -- VERY cool rear seating configurations in that vehicle - I would love to have one myself. Fit is available in a Sport package as well if you want to go that route.

Otherwise if space/hauling/cargo is NOT an issue - and Barbara wants the added HP - than you should opt for the Civic. Both are great choices!

I am SO sad to see these words on the Honda web site "100K +/- Miles No Scheduled Tune-Ups". The end of the high mileage Honda is at hand

[QUOTE=Matt_in_VA,Feb 12 2008, 12:15 AM] .....I think that we (I) would be be happier with a Civic Si sedan if we can find one.

Post any specific questions about the Fit to me and to Sam. I have very few bad things to say about that car. My only real issue is the seating position, but Barb may be just fine. I really don't mind the power, or lack thereof, too much. It's pretty peppy from a start (good gearing) and gets you to speed fast enough to not be dangerous. Just don't expect a sportscar, and you'll be fine.

Definitely go for the Sport edition: the cruise control, better stereo with MP3/WMA capability, keyless entry are worth it, and the body kit keeps it from looking like a wimpy econobox.

Anika in Sam's - shows you the room available in the back with the seats folded down:
