Technology is accelerating.
Uber is testing self driving cabs in pittsburg. How many cabbies will be displaced by this technology?
Mercedes has begun testing on self driving big rigs. I did a quick google. 3.5 million drivers earn their income this way.
That's a lot of drivers that will be looking for a new job.
Amazon is automating their warehouse picking operation to be robotic. how many folks won't have those jobs.
we're on the next wave of automation, smart automation, learning machines.

part of me is glad I'll be retiring soon. but who'll be working to fund the system?
That's Pittsburgh.... like in Pittsburgh Steelers.

Yep, its going to be pretty rough for a lot more people as this trend of corporations wanting to invest in the technology to increase profits and meet demands of the more and more concentrated wealth of those with remaining jobs, which are too specialized for computers to do yet. Im 41. Im going to be funding the corporatacracy for some time yet (as long as I want to continue to be part of the system I suppose) But i wont really have a choicer as soon as Nestle or Coke buy up the rights to all the remaining clean water sources on the planet the current administration will further exponentially pollute, then I guess we will all be forced to support a corporation wile giving up our most basic fundamental human rights to life's natural life giving resources for all living things. Not sure how all the animals will cope. That final nail in the coffin should only take about 10 years or so from now as the trend is going, and im looking forward to that! I hope people keep having kids to help speed up the process wile they can still choose to be in denial about these issues. Americans wont have that luxury of denial for much longer, even as insulated as we are from the rest of the world in our mindset. We all gave our souls to live the idea of the dream we were sold to strive to acquire. Its been a hell of a ride, and one so many still dont want to get off of. We are addicted to our lifestyle that isn't sustainable for us or the planet on any but of the most basic needs level for the amount of people on this globe. Now we are reaching a time when we are trading our basic needs to still have the wants with each new generation. We dont have enough for another generation to exploit the goods. Im worried im going to have anything resembling a life worth living for the remainder later part of my days. Retirement may hold a whole different meaning then it does for many of you folks right now.

Thank god for escapism and denial because the future sure is looking depressing and bleak today.

Okay, back to work. Our Social Security isn't going to pay for itself.

So since congress has been steeling... I mean "borrowing" our Social security to pay for their pet projects and line their pockets so there is nothing left for me when I need it, and when Republicans finally get their way and abolish social security all together and tell everyone to go learn how to become stock market gamblers with their savings, am i going to get a big fat reimbursement check for all the Social security I paid into? Not only would that be the right thing to do obviously, but i'm going to need something to lose in the stock market. I cant play their dirty racket for free!
