Default Monday at Summit Point

I may have been the only S2K Vintage driver there (I'm not sure if Gfactor is vintage or not), but a good time was had by all.

The event was hosted by the Mercedes Benz folks and they put on an excellent event. There were probably more vintage drivers than youngins participating.

My driving improved by 100% over the 5 twenty minute sessions, thanks to Gfactor's excellent instructions.

At least the S2K was well represented. (Matt, you should have been there )

Here are some pix that are much better than mine: http://www.flickr.com/photos/e3opian...7600244266352/

Lou,

I wish that I had known about it? I was under the impression that one could not track at Summit Point with the stock roll hoops. I thought that they required a SCCA approved roll bar.

I guess that the Mercedes club insurance covered this?

What about the helmet requirement? Did they require a Snell SA approval? Or do they allow Snell M helmets? Please let me know and keep me in mind for the next time.

George (Gfacter) is very fast and very smooth. He also had a lot of track time at the point. As far as I could tell it looks like you were on the Jefferson circuit?

P.S. George does NOT like to admit it, but he is Vintage.

I ran a FATT there last year and it wasn't an issue. It appears to vary, based on the sponser.

All I can say is it was $125.00 for five 20 minute sessions and lunch. It was an excellent value.

My helmet is a M and it was approved.

No, we were on Summit Point, the main circuit. George was a fantastic instructor.

I told him he missed out on a GREAT TIME at SF,

There is another MB event in August. I will be signing up ASAP!

Only NASA/SCCA require add'l rollbars at Summit. NASA doesn't really check structural integrity or design- just need to have a bar.

They were on Main.

George is older than me.

Cost was $175 for this event. Largest run group was 18 cars.

Weather was awesome.

MBCA covered the insurance.

My accident didn't allow me to attend, despite having paid for it very early inthe game(along with their VIR event in June).
