Default mosquitos

We had a perfect summer up until about 3 weeks ago when it rained for two or three days in a row and then all hell broke out. MOSQUITOS EVERYWHERE! I have no desire to do anything outside, except a fast (for me) walk around the block. I hate it when they "toy" with you. A little bit ago I saw one come in off the dog's back. Well, he found me here at the PC. So far I've slapped my hand, slapped my face, and slapped my leg. I've got half a dozen bits that I've been scratching for days now. These little bastards can spoil a summer.

How are they where you live? Not as bad, I hope.

Not many mosquitoes this year, but we have an overabundance of wasps. They must like the dry/hot conditions we have been having here. They are very aggressive and have chased the hummingbirds away from the feeders. Seems like every week they are finding a new opening in the house somewhere. Very difficult to get rid of them when I don't have direct access to the nest.

Not a problem here this year... or much of a problem any year for that matter.

Our property abuts a medium size pond. I'm using the term loosely since with the current drought in our area it's now more of a mud flat.
Between the lack of water, what frogs are left and the Dyna-Trap bug catcher between the "pond" and our house we've seen very few.

No bites this year and we live at the beach. However, the brown biting flies have been a nuisance. If the wind blows out of the west we stay off the beach.

Mosquitos: None, zero, zilch. Rattlesnakes, yes. It's dry here.

Its 61 degrees and dropping, so the mosquitos will not be around for long (I hope) but I'll bet your rattlesnakes are not going away.
