Multifunctional laser printer/scanner/copier
Incredible prices for those consumable supplies for the HP 2840.
HP is selling the unit at their online store for $700 (after $200 instant rebate). The costs of the consumables is $434 plus $45 for the black cartridge. I guess HP does make more money on ink than it does on the printers.
Is the laser drum something that needs to be replaced that often?

I have an older Kodak Easy Share and will never buy another Kodak printer. It has been shipped back for repair twice. (Well they actually replaced the first one with a re-built unit). Paper handling is terrible and it randomly burns up ink during malfunctions.
I may purchase a PIXMA this week.

Just because some of the 2000 model S2000 cars had problems does not mean we all refused to ever consider buying a newer model.

Way to go.....decrease the resale of all those original 1999-2000 buyers

Seriously, I never had any probs with mine that would have (in hindsight) kept me from buying #2643. The couple TSB's (clutch, roof latches, etc) were all handled expeditiously by local dealer
I was in Circuit City yesterday. They had two complete racks of Kodak paper, cartridges and the combination packs. They did not have the Kodak Easy Share dock/printer in the store. I noticed an HP unit that was similar and appeared to use the same ink cartridge as the Kodak. I asked the sales clerk why they had racks of Kodak paper and cartridges, but not a single unit that used them. After a long blank stare, the answer was I could order it on line.
Since the Kodak Easy Share dock/printer is also a charger for my camera, it makes more sense to purchase it, rather than the HP unit. So I have gambled on the hopes Kodak has improved the paper handling and the damn thing won
