My Jeep comitted suicide today
I've given her to a friend, she's gonna be a swamp buggy in her next incarnation.
Meanwhile, anyone know where there's a basic jeep without all the shit in it for sale?
Any model as long as it's mechanically running

I want a basic jeep. I like yj's. I'd like to find one with a 6 cylinder. Like I said no air no top ( I kept my bimini) good running order. My jeep sat outside, the only duty it ever saw years was towing my flats boat around.
Wouldn't mind a set of nice wheels on it but other than that I'll start adding stuff if it needs it.
I could go down and buy a new one but it wouldn't be the same.

A buddy of mine here at work has a 1980 CJ with the straight 6. He is interested in selling it, finally. It has been refurbished, nice wheels w/33's but no other mods. Call him direct, he is up here with me in Tampa (Wesley Chapel). He keeps it up here in his garage.

Thank you.
I'll call him tomorrow. I'm in mourning tonite, having a jeep wake.
This jeep and I have been friends since it was new. It survived 2 sons in high school (only if you were on the honor role) and through college.
They gave it back to me in it's senior years with almost 200,000 miles on the od.
When it came back to me it was like an old friend. It's spent it's last days as a boat hauler.
Still didn't burn any oil. I thought about saving it one more time but instead it's headed off for a new life as a swamp buggy with a chevy v8. I wish him luck, it was submerged in salt water for over 2 hours. I drained 5 qts of oil and 5 gallons of salt water out of the oil pan. There's not a bearing left anywhere.
Where's the rum?

But sorry about your jeep I rented one in Hawaii a couple of times, and it was a blast driving it around.

How about a '93 Exploder?? I leave the keys in it all the time hoping someone will steal it!!!
But it does have all of the toys including +1 Michelins on alloy wheels with Bilstein shocks, IPD front and rear sway bars, a K&N air filter and a Borla cat back system.
P.S. It is only one of two four door Exploder XLT's that I have ever seen that has a five speed.
