Interesting visit to the pharmacy...went to pick up a prescription. While there I asked if I was still on the list for the second shot. The tech looked and did not see my name. But then the pharmacist asked me if I wanted to get it right then! I was surprised. Just good timing. They get in about 10 doses at a time and I lucked out. Now waiting to see if I have any reaction. Did not last time except for a sore arm for a day or two. She asked me if I had had any flu like symptoms. Some people have reported that. Don't plan on any this time, either.

^ Oh, and no charge this time, either. Good insurance helps!
I watched her mix the two little vials. One was powder and the other distilled water. She extracted the water, then injected it into the powder and shook it. Then extracted the mixture and put it in my arm.

Arm was quite sore this am, but now much less so. I expect it will be back to normal tomorrow.

Well, I finally was able to get the 1st shingles shot today. Co-pay was $167 at Wallgreens but I can get reimbursed by my insurance company, so in the end it will not cost me anything out-of-pocket.

Hmm are you sure on that? Let us know. That was not an option here as Part D applies here. Maybe you have better insurance than Rick....
