Bill, we traded Karla's 07 Si last March for a new 13. She loves it. We put snows on it for the winter and have had zero problems getting around. We ordered it with all the HFP goodies except the side and rear spoilers.(front spoiler, wheels, floor mats, suspension). Pic taken when we picked it up.

I think you'd be safe overlooking this message in one.
Worse than the oatmeal I just had for breakfast.

I too am looking for a new DD in ~ 2 years as well. We have similar choices, but here's my short list with some commentary:
BMW 320i/228i: I don't need the power because it would be my daily driver. (I've heard issues with the HPFP for the whole FI range, so it's a maybe)
Hyundai Gen Coupe 3.8 R spec (kinda heavy, but it looks good)
Acura ISX (with the 2.4 from the Civic Si comes only with manual )
VW GTI: classic hot hatch
Subaru BRZ/Scion FRS: Good for me, but maybe too small for you
Fiat 500 Abarth: I really like the exhaust note.
Honda Civic Si
Mazdaspeed 3
Ford Focus ST/Ford Fiesta ST
Honda Fit 2015 RS just because it's so cheap and fun.
Right now the 2015+ Subaru WRX is my strongest contender. It's not the prettiest, but it has AWD and it's quick fun. I just wish they made the hatchback.

I like the Civic love I'm seeing here. I just picked up a 2010 LX Coupe 5-speed with 21K miles on it for a DD. I haven't had much time behind the wheel yet. I'm keeping my Subaru Outback until the winter is over, then I'll start driving the Civic. I am impressed with how roomy the cabin feels. The trunk is large too. Shifter feels good. Could have more power, but I figure I saved $5K by not buying the SI. Besides, I'll enjoy the S2000 and Motorcycle more this way.

Have been thinking of selling the tires but will probably keep the wheels for snows in the future. This year we just put on the 16" snows/steelies that we used to run on the 07 as they are only on their 2nd winter.
