Default Next match to the S2000 idea?

THIS concept car looks a lot like a match to the original AP1 S2000 that we all love:

-nice styling
-affordable price...guessing $30k plus/minus a few thousand
-easy maintenance
-small engine/ good performance

One of our neighbors have the FR-S coupe in the orange color and it looks sharp; have not talked to them yet about how it handles, etc.

What do you think?

They made it into a 2+2, and it's a bit underpowered. I think that Subie have a more powerful engine, a converitble from them that isn't a 2+2 would be interesting for sure.

I would ONLY consider it if it were a two seater roadster. ALL of my other Japanese cars have been Toys, until the S2K. The only reason I bought the S2K is because the MR2 was a disappointment.

I voted to consider it, but that's after I get 500,000 or maybe a million miles on the S and parts are not available any longer, but not as a 2 +2.

I think I'd be waiting for the turbo version of the BRZ convertible. I like the FI and the extra amenities of the BRZ.

Not sure, the size is where my problem is. I sold my 08 S2k-CR; between my CFS, Uncle Arthur, my inablity to get in/out of it. So I got the Accord EXL, V6 with HPF, 6speed.

Yes, Jerry, there is an article I read some time ago with pics of the BRZ convertible. I don't remember which car magazine. We had a Vintage thread on the proposed turbo earlier.

I voted "maybe" b/c I'd like to drive the BRZ and FR-S....have not sought them out yet. I remember the early S2000 days (like 2001-02) when a few of us in the Philly area would get together with one or two little Acura RSX to terrorize parts of Bucks County....north of Philly. Back where there where only 5-10,000 S in the USA, ya had to reach out to the "lesser brethern" for some fun.

On one of these drives is the first time that I met that guy from north Jersey, with the screen name ralper I got to know Paulie at the same time...probably Zippy too
