I've been into Yamazaki Single Malt 12 year. Excellent scotch. I like a fruity scotch in comparison to a smoky one.

IMO he worst scotch ever made is Johnny Walker, I don't care what color the label is.

I am a scotch drinker, when I choose to have a nip. Chivas is not one that I'll miss though. Single malt preferred.
Couldn't agree more. Will not shed a tear with Chivas going down the drain. Now if it was The Glenlevit or The Macallan I would be wearing a black armband
I had some Macallan last weekend. Fabulous stuff.

Chivas? Meh.

Jonas, have you had any Vixen lately? I think the last time I had any it was yours.

Not in a while. I still have one bottle in the wine fridge, and our wine shop stocks it occasionally.

The Glenlevit is one I enjoy, and luckily my local Costco carries it. But the Japanese, or The Macallan I have not tried yet. I'll need to keep my eyes out for those.

There are now a variety of Macallans.
I haven't tried the newer varieties, i.e. the Oak series.
but the 18 or 25 yr old sherry series are something special and about the price will reflect the difference.
Best served in a brandy snifter to allow the warmth of your hand to release and capture the subtle aromas.
expect $180-200 for a fifth of the 18 year, $750 -$1k for the 25.
I haven't had the 25 in a very long time.
The good news is I liked it before it was "discovered", sadly others have discovered it as well.
