Tr7's can be a handful maintenance wise that's for sure. Had a friend with a tr8 that was a neat car but it had it's issues as well.

Not in my mind. The current bid of $600 wouldn't cover the cost of the seats which looked good in the pictures. That's a lot more complete car then probably one third of the restorations people take on.

I was somewhat interested when I found a TR-8 at a local used car dealership. It was in nice cosmetic condition and appeared to be complete, at least to my untrained eye. There was some suspicious wiring in the engine bay but otherwise everything looked tidy. So I thought a test drive was in order. They couldn't start it. It would crank, fire a bit, then die. It sat at the lot for several months before disappearing to parts unknown. My only regret is the missed opportunity to drive it as I had never so much as sat in a TR-7 or -8 before.

Do you remember what they were asking for it? Was it a coupe or convertible? TR8's are worth quite a bit more than 7's. My friends tr8 always had some issue or other. I remember when I drove it he said don't go over 4k or the belt will either fall off or break I forget which.
