Chris, I've never followed La Crosse. It's never appealed to me, so I haven't keyed in on it when it's pubicized. Never-the-less, why would the have named a sport that had that meaning? Or did it not have that meaning when it was named?

"Lacrosse was given its name by early French settlers, using the generic term for any game played with a curved stick (crosse) and a ball."

I guess that says it all!

Personally, I could never get that excited about a Buick. I suppose that's what you have to do when you can't get what you really wanted anyway.

What happens to that net thing when you are circumcised? Can you still play?

Yes, but you have to wear a helmet in case of slippage.

I wasn't into LaCrosse (the stick and ball game.....hmmm....maybe there is some significance in that).....anyway, this past year my nephew came to Dallas for several LaCrosse playoff games and I really got into it - you can't beat a game where they get to hit each other with sticks! Anyway, he's gone on to college in Ohio on a LaCrosse scholarship. Boy, with this thread, you really have to watch what terms you use when you're trying to discuss the game seriously!
