One 2018 Honda CR-V Owner’s Experience

Sucks to read. I have always been skeptical of these small turbo motors. The heat issue reminds me of my old Tercel. Sure it was efficient but could never get any heat into the motor. Grille blocks maybe?
The motor being made in China makes me uneasy, but shouldn't be an issue considering Honda has plants in Mexico, etc. This is a widespread issue with DI motors, with new oil formulations claiming to help. I'm sure your familiar with bitog. Those claiming no issue are probably not diligent in checking their oil and have no idea.

Have the problems been solved with the 2019 CR-V?
Post per FASTFJR from Philadelphia on 1/24/19: I was at the Honda dealer down the street from my work yesterday getting an oil change for my 2019 Pilot. While in the waiting room I heard a guy complaining about lack of heat, oil dilution and a strong smell of gas in the cabin at times, my ears perked up. Turns out he was driving a 2019, built in November CR-V. After he got done giving the service manger a lot of grief we started talking and he was well aware of the problems with the 2017-18 line and was assured the problem had been corrected on the 2019, he had traded in a 2013 CR-V He bought the car 6 week ago and has about 900 miles on it. To say he was pissed off was the understatement of the year.

Thanks, just wanted to be sure. I've got several hand suction pumps and a lot of different sized plastic tubing. I wouldn't trust the dealership unless I watched them do it - - have I become a cynic of Honda? Your damn right I have and it grows more every day. This will be my last Honda based on how they are handling customer issues.

You are one of the lucky ones. Know one seems to know why some have issues from the start, others develop them, and still others have no issues.
