I'm not sure why I watch this but I must admit it's become a habit over the years. Out of all the shows talked about I only saw one - 310 to Yuma, a remake of one I saw a zillion years ago!

So did you watch and how many of these shows had you seen?

Yes, I just finished it. Didn't see it all, but maybe the last hour. It had to be the blandest one ever. I didn't see any of the movies but one I fell asleep in. I watch because I like to see the dresses the ladies wear. Hey, wasn't it great when they brought the woman back to the stage who got cut off when she wanted to speak? I think it was for a song, but that made the night for me. Otherwise, big yawn. And I try to watch them every year. Being raised in North Hollywood, and living in Acton, where many studio people live, it's part of the culture in Los Angeles County.

I ran a little competition with friends and family to see who picked the most winners. Just for kicks I put together a spreadsheet with a few random fcell unctions to let the computer pick his nominations. I called it The Trained Monkey<tm>.

The Trained Monkey<tm> came in with a third-place finish with 9 correct picks (the two first-place winners had 10 correct picks each).

Maybe I should become a computer programmer.

I waited until Best Actress was announced (I wanted Julie Christie to win - she was incredible in Away from Her). Then I went to bed. It was so so. Jon Stewart isn't Bob Hope!

No, I didn't watch it. I can't watch any of those shows now without thinking of the Film Actors Guild from Team America: World Police.

No, we didn't watch. I had only even heard of (IIRC) one of the films. Virginija and I sat with a bottle of wine and watched the original 3:10 to Yuma. Not a bad film. Now the remake is on my Netflix queue.

We saw "Michael Clayton" in the theater and nearly walked out within the 1st 30min.

So convoluted and a month later the girls dragged me to "Juno"....meh .....teenaged angst

I would rather watch the Nascar race delay (which I did) instead of another stupid awards show.
