Default PBS lately?

Georgia Public TV just ran a fascinating hour show about hummingbirds. I was blown away. Anyone else seen it?

It was the Nature series.

Wahhh, I missed it (the one about hummers). Maybe I'll be able to catch in reruns. +1 would like to see the Hubble one. Such things cause him great excitement. (and you know what an energizer bunny he is when he's excited)

Saw another fascinating Nature last night about the unique relationship between humans and dogs. There is now evidence the relationship goes back much further than recently thought - perhaps 10,000 years or more. They also reiterated that all domestic breeds in all their varieties are descended from wolves.

They then examined a Russian experiment with foxes that's been going on for a couple of decades. There were two groups - one bred for increasing docility, one for normal hostility toward humans. After only a few generations the docile foxes began to exhibit dog like changes in head shape, body type, and tail size and configuration. After several more generations they were more diverse and behaved as domesticated pets.

The supposition is the same thing happened with wolves and dogs.

^^^Series like these are why I support PBS, NPR, etc, with my wallet. This is TV that matters.
